Well, I think it is: safe to assume that something in the waxing strips was an irritant to your eyes.Your description suggests the irritation is limited to your eyelid; better than chemical injury to the eye itself! Start with warm, moist compresses (clean cloth) on eye for 15 minutes every couple hours. Try some OTC low dose (1 or 2.5%) hydrocortisone cream/gel meant for the eye, applied VERY carefully.
