Angiogenesis.: The color change is not necessarily a problem with your healing. I t could be part of the normal healing process. As the wound heals, new blood vessels are grown to provide the extra proteins needed to repair and remodel the damaged tissue. These vessels, filled with increased supply of blood, will make the wound appear bluish or even dark purple as the wound healing progresses.
