Not unusual: Scars often go through phases of healing, as they are, indeed, healing wounds. At first they tend to be red or pink because of all the new cells coming to the area to repair the skin. Over time, blood vessels also proliferate in the area of the scar, which can give the scar a darker appearance. This can be perfectly normal. It takes about 24 months for a scar to fully mature, give it time.
