Stress bleeding: If you were in intensive care or received steroids or non steroidal anti inflammatory medication, bleeding from stomach is possible and if significant , may not have time to redact with acid, hence bright red. Another could be trauma in passing hard stool before. Many more possibility, see your doctor soon. Hope you feel better.
