Wisdom teeth: Problematic wisdom teeth can be a major problem - they can affect normal teeth, they can get infected, they can be painful. While you can treat some episodes - long term they are better taken out.

Not avoidable : Once wisdom teeth become infected and start causing pain the only definitive to treat the problem is to have them removed. Antibiotics may help for a short time, but as soon as you stop the antibiotic the problem will return. You need to have term removed.

Always a choice...: ...but for most people, taking out the wisdom teeth is the BEST choice. I usually say that 5 things can happen with wisdom teeth and 4 of them are bad. The reality is that most people go through more trouble (time, money and pain) trying not to extract them, than taking them out several times. You're 22 and probably really healthy; it will never be easier than now, plus you can nix the pain.

Impacted teeth: Problem does not self-heal. No pill, police, oil, rinse,or homeopathic that will allow impacted tooth to erupt into functional position. Leaving impactions in place dramatically increases risk of severe damage to adjacent teeth and/or surrounding hard and soft tissues. Please follow your Dentist's advice and see a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for best treatment.
