Non-verbal Learning: Disabilities are the most common type of learning disorder associated with epilepsy. Genetic & other medical causes of nld & epilepsy include hydrocephalus, neurofibromatosis type 1, phenylketonuria, agenesis of the corpus callosum ( midline structure that connects right & left hemispheres), & any factor that disrupts prenatal development of the right hemisphere. Ask your neurologist about these.

Possibly: If you epilepsy involves the right hemisphere of the brain and you have active seizure discharges coming from a focus in the right hemisphere, you may experience some symptoms of a non verbal learning disability
