I have a hard lump in my right side of my pelvic region (increasing in size over the past 2 years.) can a cyst last that long without rupturing?

Yes, its scared down: A cyst can be common in the inguinal area. A bacteria group might be isolated and walled off and then scarred down. This would leave a hard lump that doesn't really change in size and is non painful. If extremely painful or if it's growing progressively, see your physician.
