Technically: The recommendation has always been to keep it wet when out of your mouth. Keeping it in a container with denture cleanser overnight is best. Having said that, I personally have never seen any significant changes in removable partial dentures when this protocol was not followed. The dentist who made you the prosthesis is responsible so it's advisable to follow his/her advice.

Dental appliance: When you remove appliance brush it gently w soft toothbrush, no toothpaste (scratches the vinyl), Then put it into Denture Cleaner (OTC @ drug store or supermarket), following package instructions to the letter. Let it soak overnight. Gently brush again before reinserting in the morning.

See below: Ask your dentist for a container to store your partial and used the prescribed solution sold over the counter for cleaning dentures, and use a denture brush to brush the debris off prior to putting the appliance in the solution and prior to insertion. Better yet, speak with your dentist about the possibility of implants to remedy the situation.
