Immediate denture: It sounds like you were given what we call an immediate denture. This is often replaced with another denture where the teeth are set in wax in a position that the patient and the dentist are happy with prior to having it finalized and finished in hard acrylic. The teeth can also often be replaced in the office the same day or better yet in a laboratory where you may be without it for a short time.

Orthodontics might: Please ask your dentist for an appropriate Orthodontics referral to the extent realignment of your existing/remaining teeth is possible.

Probably : Sounds like you received a temporary denture for healing purposes. Consult with your dentist to evaluate your choices for a better esthetic solution as your healing progresses.
