I am not pregnant. the md said my cervix is dilated and she felt a mass inside. what could cause the dilation? i have been on my period for 2 months

Many things: A common cause of this can be a polyp or small fibroid. There are other more rare causes and often a biopsy and/or procedure to remove the mass is necessary.
