Emergency room visit: This is a dangerous situation. If you are unable to get the pill and food down with water while sitting up or standing, you need this dealt with in the ER so you do not choke or aspirate (breathe in) the contents of your esophagus into your airway. The docs in the ER can clear out your esophagus, and make sure there is no physical blockage other than what you swallowed. Go ASAP.
