Swallow tube issue: The door to the stomach entrance is mainly a fold of tissue with a circular muscle pulling it tight like a purse string. The stomach produces acids & it's muscles squeeze the food during processing. When the door does not close completely, stomach acid back washes & irritates the swallow tube. It can cause serious sores/pain.Caffeine & nicotine can prevent door closure.
