Dysphagia : There could be simple reasons like not drinking enough water to keep mucus thin for swallowing, but other issues are possible. It could be related to acid reflux, neurologic swallowing dysfunction, esophageal stricture, zenker's diverticulum, and other issues. See an ENT doctor.
