Unlikely: An enlarged spleen is usually tucked up under the ribcage just below the diaphragm, at least early on. The lump or mass would be felt in the abdomen, if the spleen were large enough, not in the ribcage. Any doctor can check for an enlarged spleen just by feeling in the left upper abdomen.
