A member asked:

I used salacylic acid on my toe and now it looms as if theres a blister or i possibly could have burn healthy skin. what could i use to treat it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stop: First of all, no more salicylic acid applications until the skin heals completely. You have unintentionally caused a chemical burn (that's how the salicylic acid works), possibly from applying to heavy an amount of the acid. Keep it clean, don't pop the blister--let it rupture on its own--and watch for signs of infection, such as redness and opaque drainage. Let your body heal itself.
