Have checked,: Especially if it continues to stay a purplish color. This could be a number of things, from simple skin irritation to an infection to vascular issues. Did it get excessively cold at any time, frostbite? Just be sure as necrosis can set in quickly. Sorry i cannot help more without seeing it, but my safest recommendation would be to have it looked at.
