I had strep throat twice within two months. given penicillin both times and felt better, but came back. now occipital nodes itch. infection still?

Unlikely: Occipital nodes drain the scalp on the top and back of head. If the strep recurred try changing antibiotic to Cephalexin or clindamycin, or a longer course of pcn.
