Two sets: As humans, we have two sets of teeth. The primary set erupts when we are children, and as we transition into adults, the secondary set erupts and replaces the primary teeth. If any adult teeth are lost, they need to be replaced by your dentist with either a fixed or removable prosthetic.

No: Broken teeth do not self-repair. If adult tooth I'd lost there is no underlying replacement. Please see a Dentist immediately. The longer you delay the more extensive the damage, the more costly the repairs.
