Because there are so many variations for these, it is best to ask your dentist to answer your questions after an exam and x-rays--this is really the only way the answer will be meaningful for you.

The decay may be able to be restored with a filling or the tooth may need more extensive work, possibly extraction. You need to see the dentist to determine the appropriate treatment.
