Your question suggests that you not only got hepatitis A but may have a degree of underlying liver disease due to toxins (alcohol/drugs). In general, hepatic encephalopathy is a bad prognostic sign but if you don't have serious chronic liver disease, it is potentially reversible.Your hepatologist can refine your prognosis for you.
