A member asked:

When sitting at school my heart rate ranges from 75-120bpm, but lying down at home it ranges from 68-80bpm. why is it higher at school?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Simple: The working rate requires more metabolic work than the resting rate. That is reflected in the heart rate.It is no more complicated than that.
