It depends: what your doctor is looking for. US is probably a better choice for initial evaluation of certain organs like the gallbladder or kidneys. Overall, however, CT provides the most information about all structures.

Had numerous abdomen x rays and CT scan also chest scan and x Ray and 2 ultra sound of liver and gallbladder could they have noticed a hiatal hernia?

I have a vein slightly sticking out my upper right side flank/breast for 4 months. It occurred at the same time as my costochondritis. It causes mild pain/discomfort. Chest Ct Scan & Ultrasound of vein normal. Any ideas why my vein is poking out?
