A knot is an area: of increased muscle contraction. These are not uncommon in the muscles of the anterior and posterior chest due to lifting, carrying etc. You could either go to your doctor to have this confirmed or start with a massage therapist who, with the right degree of pressure, might compress and massage the muscle knot and relieve it. If that doesn't work, then you must see your Doctor. Good wishes:)
