A member asked:

Ive had tubes in my ears 4 times, and recently had bad ear pain.doctor said to try not to do tubes again,as it's not good. what else could i do?thanks!

Hard to say: Tubes are used more commonly in infants where they can bypass small, easily blocked Eustachian tubes and allow better middle ear function. Over time, the head grows,Eustachian tubes enlarge, & the benefit of tubes declines. You have not provided enough data to comment. Only an ENT with the benefit of your history & exam could tell if this would be appropriate.Get a 2nd opinion if needed.
