Brush gums: As you get older your gums recede as a natural process but you are doing everything to promote good oral hygiene . Try brushing your gums first to stimulate them than your teeth. If recession is excessive than a periodontist can do a grafting of gum tissue to cover areas of recession.

See periodontist: In addition to your great home care, you may have other things at play here. Poor or traumatic occlusion being one that comes to mind. I would recommend a consult by a well respected periodontist.

Overlooking obvious?: Maybe you are overlooking the obvious?Assuming you don't have plaque, pocketing, periodontitis etc., rather than run to a periodontist to check your bite, maybe you, like most of the patients i encountered, are mutilating themselves with aggressive toothbrushing. The concepts of brushing long, hard, with sweeping or circling motions are very archaic and damaging! follow sonicare's directions!

Maybe nothing: We are in the same age category. I have excellent gums & bone support, but do have some recession. Some of this is age related. It doesn't take much recession each year to accumulate over time. The health of your gums and supporting tissues is key, so if they are healthy, i wouldn't be overly concerned. Your own periodontist\general dentist can give you the best evaluation of causes\treatment.
