Initial herpes: If the usual HSV antibody test (HerpeSelect®), of 3.44 is positive; and conversion from negative to positive probably means infection during the weeks before the positive result. This might be consistent with your exposure 3 weeks ago. If you're having symptoms (oral sores and sore throat, or genital if a sexual exposure), treatment with valacyclovir or acyclovir will help speed improvement.
