Some risks: Kidney stones can occur with Topiramate, but a very small risk, about 1% of the time, but we do still warn patients that it can happen. The medication is renally cleared so if you did have kidney issues a higher dose could not be prescribed. Odd sensation of the lips and finger tips can occur and this is more common. Odd tastes to carbonated beverages well.
