See below: Topamax can potentially cause a variety of side effects. One of these is to increase your risk of forming kidney stones. Usually calcium phosphate stones related to urinary alkalinization and decreased urinary citrate levels. Recommend discussing with your MD and also a urologist who can both obtain a 24-hr urine to more accurately assess your risk and monitor your kidneys via imaging studies.
