YES: Pamelor is a tricyclic medication it is nortriptyline and a metabolite or breakdown product of the parent compound Amitriptyline (elavil). It may have fewer side effects as the metabolite. Start low and go up slowly per your physician's recommendations.

Could help: Have used for prevention, but also have tried calcium channel antagonists, beta blockers, etc., but these days, favor OTC items such as riboflavin, butterbur, feverfew, magnesium, due to fewer side effects, and equal or better success vrs prescription items.

Im currently taking Nortriptyline for migraine headache. I just started experiencing tingling in both feet. Is this dangerous or normal?
I am on 20 mg nortriptyline daily for migraine headaches. It has raised by resting heart rate from 52 bpm to 72 bpm. Unsurprisingly I am a distance runner, and it seems as if it is significantly slowing my pace. Does that make sense?
Added 10 mg nortriptyline (nummular headache) to 50 mg trazodone (insomnia) with 60 mg cymbalta (duloxetine) (migraine). Felt dizzy, drugged & weak so stopped trazodone. Feel better, but can't sleep. What to do?
