Treating chlamydia: You were given more doxycycline than normal; chlamydia is usually treated for just 7 days. Your infection is gone by now. Doxycycline never fails to cure chlamydia; you don't need retesting at this time. However, retesting is recommended for everyone with chlamydia 3-4 months later, to check for reinfection -- which is quite common. Of course your sex partner(s) must be treated too.
