A member asked:

I ruptured my ear drum 1 week ago due to a middle ear infection. hard to hear/ringing/full feeling. today it has started to pop when i swallow. good?

Yes: Popping indicates that the perforation has sealed and the eustacian tube is now functioning, allowing air into the middle ear to replace the infected fluid. You are on the way to recovery.

Maybe : You want to follow up with your doctor / ENT specialist, to see if the drum healed already, meanwhile keep that side clean and put a cotton plug in that ear, avoid any fluid getting inside, no swimming for now. Best wishes
