Flaky skin: It may be seborrhea or eczema or simply dry. Best to try gentle cleansers and moisturize. If that does not help a dermatologist may prescribe topical creams.

Often the scalp and the area around the nose are inflamed at the same time. Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic skin condition that cannot be cured, but can be controlled with topical medications. Gently washing with an anti-dandruff shampoo helps improve the rash.
