Meds / surgery: Plaque and blockage in peripheral arteries is treated based upon the severity of symptoms produced and the potential for life threatening occlusion. If they are non limiting then medications to lower cholesterol and prevent clot formation are key. If lesions are causing significant symptoms then surgery (stents, removal of plaque or bypass) is considered.
