Lost tooth: Baby tooth? Are you sure the entire tooth exfoliated or did it possibly break off leaving roots? Give him NSAIDs in the appropriate dose for his weight which will help with his pain, and have him examined by his dentist to see if any treatment is needed. All the best.

Pain: How old is your son? Is this a baby tooth or one of his permanent teeth? Was there trauma? Does he have swelling or bleeding! Typically there is little to no pain when a baby tooth is lost so there is more going on here than a simple exfoliation, loss of baby tooth. See a dentist and get him checked to find out what is causing his pain.

Pain: How old is your son? Is it a baby tooth or a permanent tooth? Which one? Is your child receiving regular Dental care? Please call your Dentist for an emergency appointment. In the meantime children's OTC analgesics, given exactly as per package instructions, may make your son more comfortable until the Dentist can treat the cause of the pain.
