My 5 month old baby is rsv + been to er more than 5 times, is it ok to give her xopenex (levalbuterol) 0.63mg/3ml through nebulizer for wheezing & coughing?

Definitely but she: Needs to be monitored &managed by her pediatrician.Sounds like she is not under control.She may need steroids either orally 4 short course, 5 days or add Pulmicort to her regimen.Be aggressive initially &wean her off xopenex (levalbuterol) &eventually maintain her on Pulmicort twice daily till controlled & then once at night 4 a few months then re- evaluate.If ex-expremie, she may need synagis. Discuss w her md.
