Not gout: Gout is almost immediately recognized by the very severe pain, redness and swelling. If you have to ask, it isn't gout. Please see your doctor for a proper history and physical. Bring any medications or supplements that you use with you.

Neuropathy, But Why?: it is possibly neither. You have a neuropathy. The issue now is, just what is causing it. There a quite a few causes of neuropathy. To get to the nitty gritty, you will need to be evaluated by one or possibly two different specialties. Start with your primary care provider. A referral may be needed to ensure effective treatment.
