Colonoscopy prep: Colon preps are designed to remove solid matter, green appearance to the exiting liquid is from bile salts residues that have dissolved in the prep and are being washed out. Your doctor will be able to see everything. Incomplete preps are from retained solids - this can be rectified by using a full liquid diet for 3 or 4 days prior to the prep to minimize the chance of retained solid matter.
