Persistent swelling: Have it checked. It may be a cyst or foreign body as well as trauma. Your doctor should recognize the cause. All the best.

Long time: Seems taking a long time to resolve so perhaps you did more damage than you thought. Better see the doctor for exam now to see what is going on.
