I have pain in my wrist/forearm, more forearm that comes and goes. do sprains hurt when there is no movement? there is no apparent swelling.

Nerve, muscle?: You need to get checked to see if the problem is of a muscular origin or possibly some nerve entrapment in the forearm or wrist area you should get a good exam to see what exacerbates the pain and you may require a ncv study to evaluate possible nerve etiology.

It is possible: One may have internal inflammation to the area which may lead to pain even though there might not be any evident external swelling.
