Not really: It is a difficult question and we cannot verify your diagnosis of ADHD without a full history and examination. Unfortunately an improvement of symptoms with the medications is not a solid proof of the correct diagnosis either. If you want a second opinion, you should get a proper Psychiatric review arranged for yourself.

ADHD: Who did the diagnosis? Please see a mental health pro such as a clinical psychologist who specializes in ADD and ADHD. Do not let your response to medication be the only determination. The psychologist will offer strategies to deal w/any attention disorder if you have one. Peace and good health.

ADHD: https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/adhd/conditions.html http://www.aafp.org/afp/2000/1101/p2077.html ADHD is a complex disorder and may overlap with other disorders like depression/ anxiety. It is best to review the criteria that were used to make the diagnosis and medication impact w/ a neuropsychologist . Note ADHD meds can have effects on retention and omission in non ADHD individuals.

Not entirely: There are many non-drug treatments for ADHD including cognitive behavior therapy, counseling, anger management that help a number of psychological/behavhioral problems. The medications most often prescribed for ADHD are stimulants which do help many people with ADHD, not all. It may be an indicator you have the condition if this medication helps, but not definitive.
