Calories wt loss: How do you calculate calories for weight loss? ANS: calculate how many calories you are eating now. I recommend using the app FitnessPal. Do this 4 1 wk 2 c your current intake & calories burned. Then subtract 500 calories a day eat that level of calories or burn 500 calories a day more than you do now and weight should melt off. When you no longer are losing weight lower another 500 and repeat.

What number of calories do I need for weight loss?

Less than you burn: Weight loss happens when you eat fewer calories than you burn. The number of calories you burn depends on your current weight, gender, activity level, height, and age. Once you estimate your daily calorie burn, eat fewer calories than that on a daily basis and you should lose weight.

Does calorie restriction cause weight loss?

Yes: A low-calorie diet speeds up weight loss. If a person eats fewer calories than he needs to live on each day, his body will use the stored fuel (fat). If a person exercises more than he did before, but does not start eating more calories, then his body will also use up the stored fat. The only way a low calorie diet might not cause weight loss is if it somehow decreased a person's exercising.

Well ...: It highly depends on several factors such as your height, age and activity level. In general, try to cut 500 calories out of your diet (below your recommended daily intake). This should cut 1/2 to 1 pound per week.
