Maybe related: Uterine retroversion indicates that the top of the uterus is rotated backward into the pelvis and may impact the sigmoid colon where stool is stored just prior to bowel movement. It is theoretically possible for a retroverted uterus to cause heaviness and discomfort in woman who's sigmoid colon has fecal material present. Retroverted uteri may occur in up to 25% of women.
