Crunch in the jaw joint

Crunch: It is called crepitus. Articular noise or palpatory crepitus. if not associated with pain, joint swelling, limitation of joint motion, can probably just leave alone. Could see prosthodontist for mouth guard if bothersome.

Crunch: Crepes. Usually indicates damage to cartilaginous disc, or arthritic changes, resulting in bone-on-bone contact. Occlusal Orthotic (mouth guard) may provide symptomatic relief. See your Dentist.
