No: Commonly used antibiotics such as penicillin, amoxicillin, azithromycin, etc., do not alter the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptive pills like birth control pills or emergency contraceptive pills like Plan B. As usual, a woman should check a home urine pregnancy test 3 weeks after using Plan B to make sure she is not pregnant.
