A member asked:

I have a bump on my cervix and some brown discharge. could it be a cervical polyp ? and if so, does it need to be removed?

Probably not: If your Pap tests and cervical screenings are normal, there is little cause for alarm and probably no need to do anything. There is a very high likelihood that that you may have some vey benign conditions like "Nabothian follicles or Nabothian cysts" which will usually resolve spontaneously or a benign cervical polyp which is also likely to disappear on its own.
