Shrimp allergy: It is important to get an Epipen (and instruction on how to use appropriately) immediately if one experiences symptoms suggestive of IgE-mediated food allergy. This can include hives, swelling of the face or body, breathing problems, wheeze, cough, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, loss of consciousness; all within hours of ingestion. An appropriate evaluation involves careful interview and testing.
