Wheezing: If you have been diagnosed with stridor, an obstruction should be ruled out promptly. Stridor is caused by an upper airway condition. Classic wheezing, caused by asthma or allergies, occurs due to lower airway abnormalities. Both can be treated. If you have symptoms, you should be evaluated and treated right away, not wait days to weeks for an appt.

GO TO ER: Breathing problems require immediate attention. If you have asthma use your rescue inhalor (albuterol) . If not improving tremendously or if this is a new issue seek care now- do not wait.
