If your pain is: intolerable or if the heavy bleeding is accompanied by weakness, lightheadedness, fever or pallor, it's best not to wait. Otherwise it makes sense to see your doctor when s/he can review the ultrasound results with you. Best wishes. Dr. Anne

Pelvic pain: You may have endometriosis. An ovarian cyst is also possible. Have your tried ibuprofen to relieve discomfort? Certainly you should see your doctor after the ultrasound.
