Early bunion: Sounds like early bunion with hammertoes of the 2nd toes. Hopefully you are not in pain. At your age I would think that this condition runs in the family (ie. a genetic problem). Wear good supportive shoes and over-the-counter insoles for additional support if needed. If you are having pain or this is progressing quickly, you would need to see a foot specialist.

What is the question: you can have something called a hallux interphalangeus where the big toe is curved towards the second without having a bunion.....a bunion is simply a bump of bone and this is usually on the medial aspect of the first metatarsal head but can be on the top of it.

Could be long 2nd.: Without even seeing your foot, I'm betting that the second toe is longer than the big toe. When this happens the sock and or shoe can cause a retrograde force on the toe causing a bending or buckling of the toe. The progression stops when the length pattern of the toes is positioned as to stop further bending of the toe. Removing all doubt is achieved by seeing a foot specialist.
