Enlarged lymph nodes: in the neck are common in children in response to viral infections and strep throat. If it has been a year and the node is not enlarging, it is very reassuring that there is no active infection or disease and would not require treatment unless painful or your child has other symptoms of illness like fever or sore throat or sinus infection.
